A significant need has been found for the Purdue football team through the transfer portal.
The Boilermakers have added a scholarship longsnapper, as William & Mary’s Nick Levy has joined the Purdue football team. Levy made the announcement on his social media.
“After a great home visit with @CoachPetrilli, I am excited to announce I’ve committed to Purdue,” Levy wrote on X.
Levy’s joining Purdue comes on the heels of the Boilermakers adding former Mississippi State punter Keelan Crimmins through the portal.
When he committed, Crimmins posted on X, “Can’t wait to see what long snapper jumps in the portal to join me and this very talented specialist room.”
Levy will arrive to Purdue football with two years of eligibility remaining and is expected to be the starter on punting and kicking duties.
With the longsnapper now on the roster, Purdue football coach Ryan Walters can figure out the rest of the special teams room.
Crimmins joins sophomore walk-on Bennett Boehnlein as the lone punters. Ben Freehill is the lone placekicker and was 6-of-11 last year on field goals. Freshman Spencer Porath is slated to join the Boilermakers in the fall and handled both punting and kicking duties at Brownsburg High School (IN).
